Adapted Golf Clinic –
This clinic is for individuals with physical/mental disabilities. The
participants in this clinic will be instructed individually by a team of a
therapist/golf pro on how to golf with their particular disability.
Volunteers in this area will assist by bringing participants down to the
clinic area. There is a 10 degree slope and some participants will need
assistance getting there. We will also need people to assist with light
traffic and directions to the clinic area. Shift requirements: Tuesday,
August 23rd 12:00- 5:00. Volunteers need to be prepared to: Walk up to ¼
mile and push a wheelchair up to 250 pounds. ONLY TIME AVAILABLE:
Tuesday, August 23rd 12:00- 5:00.
Concierge Committee –
Reserved for volunteers appointed to the Concierge committee only.
Course Marshals –
Marshals are the largest group of volunteers on the course assisting players and spectators alike. This includes spotting balls and watching for errant shots, while providing gallery control to keep play proceeding smoothly. They also assist spectators to have the optimal view of play and enjoyment of the competition. Some knowledge of golf is desirable, but not necessary. Walking is involved. Marshals must be able to work at least one shift on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (Boeing Classic). Work shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are an hour before the first tee time to the end of play, approximately 10AM to 6PM. Work shifts for Wednesday and Thursday (Pro-Am) are morning (7AM - 1PM) or afternoon (1PM - 7PM).
Driving Range – FULL
Maintain the Driving Range and short game practice areas; ensure golf balls are available for practice; clean, sort and bag golf balls; keep track of player name signs and other activities. Light physical activity such as lifting (40 lbs or less) and bending over may be required. Work shifts are four hours minimum between 6 AM to 10 AM Monday, 10 AM to 3 PM Tuesday, 6 AM to dusk Wednesday and Thursday, and 8 AM until Driving Range is empty after round on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Depending on tournament activities, hours for Monday and Tuesday can be from 6AM to dusk in 4 hour shifts.
Ecology –
Help Ecology contractor maintain cleanliness of high-volume spectator traffic areas around the course including sponsor hospitality skyboxes. Work shifts are six hours from the start to the finish of play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Honorary Observer –
This committee is reserved for volunteers appointed to the Honorary Observer committee.
Media Center –
Assist in Media Center to register media members, drive media members to various locations, answer phones, assist photographers, post scores. Work shifts are five hours minimum between 8 AM to 6 PM Monday through Sunday.
Medical Tent - Credentials Required : Medical Asst. -
Assist in Medical Tent. REQUIREMENT: Medical Assistant Credentials and up are required for this committee. Reserved for qualified Virginia Mason staff.
Tournament Committee –
Reserved for Boeing Classic tournament committee members only
Volunteer Uniforms - FULL
Have a great time with a very fun group! Help distribute uniforms at
Orientation/Training sessions prior to tournament and during the tournament
week. Work shift is approximately five hours Saturday August 20, and Sunday
August 21 prior to tournament week, and six-hour work shifts Wednesday thru
Friday during the tournament week: AM (6 AM-noon), and PM (noon-6 PM).
Saturday and Sunday shifts during the tournament are FULL.
Administration – FULL
Answer phones and support tournament staff as needed in the tournament headquarters onsite. Daytime shifts available Friday, Saturday and Sunday before tournament week. Evening shifts are available every day during tournament week from 5 to 9PM.
Admissions – FULL
Sell tickets, dispense golfer pairing sheets, help with Will-Call and Lost & Found requests, and other spectator support activities. Work shifts are approximately four to five hours between 6 AM to 4 PM Monday, 9 AM to 4 PM Tuesday, 6 AM to 4 PM Wednesday and Thursday, 8 AM to 6 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. *New Volunteers must sign up for only Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday.
Broadcast Support – FULL
Work as a Scorer or Microphone Operator at designated holes to support The Golf Channel broadcast, or walk with an assigned group for 9-14 holes during the broadcast. Volunteers need a basic understanding of golf and are in good physical condition. Work shifts are approximately six hours from the start to the end of play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Caddies Center – FULL
Register caddies, issue caddie bibs, monitor snack and beverage supply, issue food vouchers. Work shifts are four hours minimum between 9 AM to 5 PM on Monday and Tuesday, 6 AM to 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday, and two hours before the first tee time until the Driving Range is empty after round on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday some committee members will be needed until 7 PM.
Long Drive – FULL
Volunteers work in teams using laser range finders and
reflectors to measure drive distances on certain holes. Knowledge of golf
etiquette is helpful. Work shifts are 10 AM to 5 PM on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday.
Merchandise Store – FULL
Help greet customers, assist with selling merchandise, and fill in stock levels. Work shift 4 hours minimum. Monday 7am-3:30pm, Tuesday 9am-1pm, Wednesday 7am-5pm, Thursday 7am-5pm, Friday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm and Sunday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm.
Pro-Am – FULL
Organize player golf bags, prepare golf carts and other activities as needed; this activity requires lifting and carrying golf bags. Help register players and distribute player gifts. Work shifts are 6 to 8 AM, 11 AM to 1:30 PM, and 5:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesday and Thursday.
Scoreboard Operations – FULL
Post players’ golf scores on manual scoreboards at the 18th Hole and Media Center scoreboards. Some work may involve use of two-way radio and a computer. Work shifts are approximately five hours minimum between 10 AM and 6 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Shuttle Carts – FULL
Transport volunteer marshals/walking scorers to assigned work areas prior to tournament play; drive players between holes as needed during play, and transport volunteer marshals/walking scorers back from assignments to Volunteer Center at the end of play. Work shifts are four hours minimum: Wednesday and Thursday (Pro-Am) 6 AM-7 PM; Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Boeing Classic) 9 AM-6 PM. Knowledge of golf etiquette is mandatory. Prior shuttle cart experience is highly desirable.
Skybox Hospitality – FULL
Greet guests, check credentials at skybox and Canyon Club locations. Escort players visiting sponsors' skyboxes. Work shifts are four hours minimum between 11AM-6PM Wednesday thru Sunday.
Standard Bearers – FULL
Carry a scoreboard that displays the individual scores of the players in your group. Minimum age is 14-yrs-old, and volunteers must be in good physical condition. Work shift begins at 10 AM to the end of play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Transportation – FULL
Prior to tournament help drive shuttle vehicles/rental cars to designated location(s). During the event drive Champion Tour pros and other VIP’s to golf course, hotels and special events. After the tournament help return courtesy car fleet to auto dealership. Volunteers are needed a week prior to tournament week and up to four days following (August 16—September 2). Work shift varies daily. A valid driver’s license is required.
Volunteer Center - FULL
Check-in volunteers, provide food vouchers, and be prepared to support other committees and accept special assignments as required. Work shift is four hours minimum between 6 AM to 6 PM Monday thru Thursday, and 6 AM to 7 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Minimum number of volunteers (no more than three) required for 6 AM to 9 AM shifts.
Volunteer Rover - FULL
This is a great committee for the new volunteer, as you are able to get a flavor of different volunteer opportunities across the tournament. Work out of the Volunteer Center to assist other volunteer committees and tournament staff as needed. Work shift is four hours minimum from 6 AM to 6 PM Monday thru Sunday.
Walking Scorers - FULL
Walk with player groups and record player scores and statistics on PalmPilotÆ or paper scorecard. Training is provided by the PGA. Walking Scorers must work as a Walking Scorer for at least one round during the Pro-Am on Wednesday or Thursday before working as a Walking Scorer during the tournament. Walking Scorers who work at least one round during the Pro-Am on Wednesday or Thursday will receive priority for working as a Walking Scorer during the tournament. †Good physical condition, the ability to walk eighteen holes, and experience from Pro-Am or prior experience is required. Work shifts during Pro-Am and the tournament are approximately six hours between 7 AM and 6 PM on Wednesday and Thursday and 10 AM and 6 PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
