The Boeing Classic honored the men and women that serve our country with the first-ever Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 28th. In addition to providing free admission, military personnel played a vital role in several of the tournament's activities and the course was decorated with 1,400 American flags. The day began with a special opening ceremony featuring the U.S. Armed Forces Color Guard then military representatives made the first tee player announcements and tended the flag on the 18th green. The tournament was also proud to host Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry. One of our nation's most treasured heroes, Petry walked behind the ropes with the leaders in the final group - including eventual Champion Mark Calcavecchia - and participated in the Champion Trophy ceremony.
