BOEING CLASSIC TO HOST MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY

The Boeing Classic is honored to recognize the men and women that serve our country with the tournament's first-ever Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 28. In an effort to have as many servicemen and women as possible take part in the celebration, active, retired and Reserve military as well as their dependents will receive free admission to the tournament.

"The Boeing Classic is thrilled to do its part and show our appreciation to the men and women who risk and sacrifice so much in serving our country," said Boeing Classic Tournament Director Michelle DeLancy. "We hope that a day at the course will give our military heroes and their families an opportunity to relax and enjoy great golf at the Boeing Classic."

The Boeing Classic will endeavor to honor our country and those who have fought to protect it in nearly all aspects of the day's events at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. In addition to receiving free admission and hospitality, military personnel will play a vital role in several of the tournament's events and operations. Highlights of Military Appreciation Day activities include:

  • FREE admission for active, retired and Reserve military and their dependents with ID
  • FREE parking in Boeing Classic Spectator Lot with military ID
  • The Patriots Outpost, a special event tent at the top of the 18th green hosted by the USO, will offer free food and drink for military families
  • Special performance of the National Anthem with U.S. Armed Forces color guard prior to the first tee times at 10:15am
  • First Tee player announcements made by military personnel
  • Old Glory to serve as the pin flag on the 18th Green

Military personnel and their dependents must show an official military ID at Admissions to receive a ticket. Dependents include children 21 years and younger with a valid military ID. A special stamp on the ticket will provide access to the Patriots Outpost.

For military personnel who are not able to attend the tournament on Sunday, free admission will be offered throughout Tournament Week, August 22-28.

The Boeing Classic is an Official Event on the PGA TOUR Champions Tour, which features the legends of golf 50 years of age or older. The winner of the 2010 Presidents Award honoring the best event on the Champions Tour, in the tournament's six-year history, nearly 3.2 million dollars has been raised for the Heart Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Center, the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason and additional Greater Seattle Charities. The 2011 event will be played August 22-28 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. Highlights during the week include the Rumble at the Ridge (August 22), the First Tee Youth Clinic (August 23) and the Korean Air Pro-Am (August 24-25).
