KENNY PERRY TO COMPETE AT THE 2011 BOEING CLASSIC

Kenny Perry, a two-time Ryder Cup member with 14 wins on the PGA Tour, has committed to play in the Boeing Classic, set for August 22-28 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. Perry is one of the most notable rookies competing this year on the Champions Tour while also continuing to play in events on the PGA Tour.

"Kenny Perry is a fantastic addition to the Champions Tour and to the Boeing Classic field,” said Michelle DeLancy, Boeing Classic Tournament Director. “He is a true ambassador of the game and is exactly the type of player that makes this event so attractive to both the golf and the corporate community.”

Perry has competed in five events on the Champions Tour this season and has finished in the top-ten three times. He has played in 10 PGA Tour events with his best finish coming at THE PLAYERS Championship (T39).

Perry has played well in his two previous trips to the Northwest, finishing T10 in the 1998 PGA Championship and T24 in the WCG-NEC Invitational.

In 2005 Perry became just the 10th man to reach $20 million in PGA Tour career earnings and to date has earned more than $31 million in 20 years on the PGA Tour. He is currently the highest all-time PGA Tour money winner without a major championship.

A highly decorated player for his achievements on and off the course, Perry has been inducted into the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame and the Western Kentucky University Hall of Fame. He was named the winner of the 2002 Charles Bartlett Award, given to a professional golfer for his unselfish contributions to the betterment of society and won the 2009 Payne Stewart Award, given annually to a player sharing Stewart’s respect for golf’s traditions and his commitment to golf’s heritage of charitable support.
