VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FOR THE 2012 BOEING CLASSIC NOW OPEN!

The Boeing Classic is excited to announce that we have officially opened Volunteer Registration for 2012. Over 1,000 volunteers supported last year's event - the largest collection of dedicated individuals in tournament history! - and with their help we believe it was the most successful tournament yet.

As ambassadors of the Boeing Classic, tournament volunteers are critical to our success. The TOUR players, families and caddies were very appreciative of the support they received all week long - from the moment they arrived at the airport to their experiences at the golf course - and they all were impressed by the special care they received from every person they came in contact with. The hospitality shown to them by the great people of the Pacific Northwest played a major role in the Boeing Classic being honored with the 2011 Champions Tour Players Award, voted on by the Champions Tour pros to honor the tournament that they feel excels in the areas of hospitality, fan interaction, entertainment and overall experience. In just seven years, the Boeing Classic has become a week that the TOUR players look forward to each year and it would be impossible to sustain and improve upon such high expectations without the hard work and 'can do' attitude exhibited by our volunteer base.

The 2012 Boeing Classic will take place August 20-26 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. All new Boeing Classic volunteers will receive a volunteer package valued at $300, which includes two golf shirts, a jacket, headwear, tournament admission passes, meal vouchers and more. Specific details of the volunteer package are listed on BoeingClassic.com.

We look forward to again working with such a fantastic group of people and having them contribute to what we expect will be another successful tournament in 2012.

CHECK OUT SOME OF OUR FAVORITE CHAMPIONS TOUR PLAYERS AT THIS WEEK'S PGA TOUR EVENT IN ARIZONA

While the Champions Tour takes a break this week, you’ll still see plenty of familiar faces in competition at the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale. Many golf fans are familiar with the tournament because of its signature hole - the par-3 16th - which draws thousands of spectators who pack the stands surrounding the hole.

Not one to shy away from a crowd, defending Boeing Classic Champion Mark Calcavecchia is a big fan of the event, having racked up more wins than any other player in the field (1989, 1992, 2001). Fans will also want to watch Kenny Perry, who won the event in 2009 and is currently ranked fourth on the all-time money list with $2,133,595 in 24 appearances.

Tom Pernice, Jr., who is still playing regularly on both Tours and recently finished T43 at the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA TOUR, will look to continue having success against the "young guys." You can watch all the action on the Golf Channel beginning Thursday at 1:00pm.

KOREAN AIR CONTINUES AS PRO-AM TITLE SPONSOR

The Boeing Classic is proud to announce that Korean Air will continue its partnership with the tournament as the title sponsor the tournament’s Pro-Am event, which takes place August 22nd and 23rd as part of a complete week of events leading up to tournament competition.

The Korean Air Pro-Am provides a unique opportunity for corporate partners to play with a legend of golf during practice rounds at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge and greatly contributes to the charitable proceeds raised for the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason. 56 foursomes will play in the two-day event, with every amateur team paired with a Champions Tour player taking part in the weekend competition. The pros and their caddies are true ambassadors of the game and engage with their groups for a dynamic and one-of-a-kind experience.

A tournament sponsor since 2007, Korean Air is North America’s largest airline to Asia and is among the top 20 airlines in the world for passengers carried annually. The company slogan, "Excellence in Flight," reflects a commitment to the customer experience, which is a shared goal and practice with the Boeing Classic. Korean Air, a longtime partner of Boeing, is currently flying 737,747,777 and was a launch customer for the 787.

"It is only because of the tremendous support of partners such as Korean Air that we’re able to impact the lives of people in this community year after year," said Michelle DeLancy, Tournament Director of the Boeing Classic. "The Pro-Am is such a unique experience for the participants and truly showcases what makes this tournament and the Champions Tour so special - the legendary players who have such a rich history in the game of golf. We are honored that Korean Air has chosen the Boeing Classic as part of its outreach to fans and business associates across the Northwest."
