BOEING CLASSIC TAKES ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE WITH CHAMPIONS TOUR PROFESSIONALS

The legends of the game to compete at Sahalee this week, but also look forward to the tournament that brought golf back to the region – the Boeing Classic.

For only the sixth time on record, both a U.S. Senior Open and co-sponsored Champions Tour event have been held in the same city. While the U.S. Senior Open gets underway this week at Sahalee and is sure to draw interest from golf fans around the region, the elevated interest of the Champions Tour will only elevate the stature and impact of the Boeing Classic, the region’s only annual PGA TOUR event which has raised nearly $3 million for local charities since its inception in 2005.

Many of the legends of the game competing this week have been welcomed by the greater Seattle area during their appearances at the Boeing Classic the last five years and in turn the Pros have grown fond of their time spent here – largely because of the receptive audiences in the galleries and tremendous hospitality shown to them by the Tournament organizers and sponsors.
For some pros in particular, their success at both Sahalee and TPC Snoqualmie Ridge provides a special opportunity to build on their legendary status in the region. Here’s a look at some of the top finishers at the 1998 PGA Championship at Sahalee and how those players have fared in competition at the Boeing Classic.
