BOEING CLASSIC EARNS 2011 CHAMPIONS TOUR PLAYERS AWARD

The region’s premier golf event adds to its impressive list of honors and achievements

The Boeing Classic announced today that the tournament received the 2011 Champions Tour Players Award at the Tour’s Annual year-end conference in Boca Raton, Florida. The award is voted on by the Champions Tour pros and honors the tournament that they feel excels in the areas of hospitality, fan interaction, entertainment and overall experience.

This achievement marks the third time that the Boeing Classic has received one of the coveted annual Champions Tour awards. In 2010 the event earned the prestigious Presidents Awards and in 2007 was given the Outstanding Achievement Award. The tournament held its first event in 2005 and in just seven years has raised nearly $3.7 million in addition to its numerous awards.

"It is especially gratifying to receive an award that was voted on by the Pros and that our event is one that they look forward to attending every year," said Boeing Classic Tournament Director Michelle DeLancy. "This truly is a testament to our more than 1,000 volunteers, the best title sponsor in Boeing, the fantastic host organization that is Virginia Mason Medical Center and our beautiful venue TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. All of these wonderful partners play a major role in providing a unique, first-class experience for the pros and represent the hospitality of the people of the Northwest so well."
